Nordic trail grooming begins
With snow blanketing the valley, Nordic skiing has begun, as has trail grooming.
Parks and Recreation crews are overseeing more than 30 miles of trail this season, grooming tracks for classic and skate skiing as weather allows.
Crews will tackle High School Fields, Emily’s Pond Levee, Wilson Centennial Pathway and the 390 Underpass to Snake River Bridge on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
Cache Creek, Wayne May Park and Game Creek will be groomed Wednesdays and Fridays.
Unlike last season, Cache Creek will receive an additional grooming up to Noker Draw on Mondays.
South Park Loop Road will be plowed this year instead of groomed.
Dogs and their responsible walkers are welcome on the trails, but users are asked not to walk in the ski tracks. Dogs are required to be leashed on the school fields and on some trails.
Grooming reports can be found at TetonParksAndRec.org.
