Ridgefield Playhouse to celebrate Martin Luther King at event this afternoon
RIDGEFIELD—The Ridgefield Playhouse will host its 21st annual Martin Luther King Day Celebration Monday, Jan. 16 at 3pm.
The event will include performances by Broadway’s Daniel Levine and Bryan Perri, the Ridgefield Chorale, Kimberly Wilson and students from nonprofit organization Keys. First Selectman Rudy Marconi, the Ridgefield Clergy Association and ceremony organizer Mark Robinson will are scheduled to speak at the celebration.
Two awards will be presented at the ceremony. The Spirit of Dr. King Ridgefield Community Service Award will be given to Daniela Sikora of the Ridgefield chorale, and a posthumous award will be presented to the family of Tom Belote, an active member of the Ridgefield community who died last year.
The event is open to the public and free of charge.
