Children’s museum doubles the party fun for New Year’s Eve

December 29, 2017

Minnesota Children’s Museum Rochester will hold two New Year’s Eve parties Sunday due to the popularity of the annual event.

The first party is from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., with a ball drop planned at noon.

The second party is from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., with a ball drop at 4 p.m.

The museum in Suite A of River Center Plaza, 1643 North Broadway, will feature a live DJ dance party presented by Black Tie Sound and Light; snacks by Cinemagic Hollywood 12 Theatre, Hy-Vee, and Culligan of Rochester; a professional Photo Booth by Bliss Photography; and a variety of games and prizes provided by local businesses!

Party is a ticketed event with special pricing for museum members and sells out year after year, according to Becca Stiles-Nogosek, the museum’s development events manager. Tickets are $8 for members, and $10 for non-members, with adults and children paying the same prices.

Heather Donovan, the event chairwoman, said the event is an ideal option for families to celebrate the coming of a new year.

“I support the Minnesota Children’s Museum Rochester because I believe in children being children by providing a place for them to play and interactively learn through experiences to grow in knowledge,” she said. “My family will be over the moon for this jam packed Noon Year’s Eve Party. My employer, Sterling State Bank, is a huge Rochester community supporter, providing donations and encouraging employees to donate their time to great causes in our community.”

Funds raised at this event will remain local and support the museum’s efforts to provide families with a place for playful experiential learning, Stiles-Nogosek said.
