3 plead guilty to neglect in aftermath of woman’s death
CHARLESTON, W.Va. (AP) — Three people have pleaded guilty to neglect in the aftermath of an 88-year-old woman’s death in West Virginia.
The case involves the death of Norma Dunlap in May, after she was admitted to a hospital. A criminal complaint said she had numerous bed sores, had dried feces on her back and was covered with insects.
WSAZ-TV in Huntington reports Dunlap’s daughter, Lisa Dunlap, who was her primary caregiver, pleaded guilty Wednesday to neglect of incapacitated adult resulting in death. Dunlap’s granddaughter, Kayla Lea Rogers, pleaded guilty to the same charge. John W Rogers pleaded guilty to child neglect. Investigators say John and Kayla’s young children were in the home.
All three defendants, who are from Charleston, pleaded not guilty when they appeared before a judge in the case in August.
