Police seize large quantities of meth, marijuana, during arrest of Scottsbluff man
SCOTTSBLUFF — A Scottsbluff man faces charges after he allegedly sold methamphetamine to an informant and investigators located large quantities of methamphetamine and marijuana in his vehicle.
Andrew Requejo, 45, has been charged with possession of methamphetamine, less than 139 grams, a Class IC felony; possession of methamphetamine, more than 140 grams, a Class IB felony; no drug tax stamp, a Class IV felony; and delivery of a controlled substance, a Class IIA felony.
According to documents filed in Scotts Bluff County Court, Requejo allegedly sold four ounces of methamphetamine in the parking lot of a Scottsbluff restaurant on Nov. 11. He was arrested immediately after the transaction was confirmed and authorities allegedly searched his vehicle, locating $2,560 in cash and a box containing baggies of a white crystal substance. In addition to the four ounces of methamphetamine that Requejo is accused of selling to the informant, investigators recovered a total of 1 pound, 1 ounce of suspected methamphetamine, a pound of suspected marijuana and seven grams of suspected hash.
Investigators also located multiple scales with drug residue.
According to the affidavit, Requejo also sold two ounces of methamphetamine on a prior occasion, allegedly selling two ounces of methamphetamine to an informant on Oct. 24.
Reqeujo was arraigned in Scotts Bluff County Court on Wedensday and is next scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 20 for a preliminary hearing. Bond in the case has been set at $350,000.
