April 22, 2019

FLORENCE, S.C. – Wheeling into Florence hauling truckloads of tasty foods is the inaugural Carolina Food Truck Rodeo. The food trucks will pull into the Florence Center on May 10 for a two-day event.

“Food Trucks - Live Music - Craft Brews - Good Vibes” is the motto of the festival, which is offering free admission to attendees.

The SMG-managed Florence Center’s new food truck festival combines music, drinks, games and, of course, plenty of food for all tastes.

The Carolina Food Truck Rodeo will feature more than 20 food trucks from around the nation and a diverse range of foods.

The slogan on their website says “come hungry, leave happy” and hints to a vast selection of foods to satisfy even the heartiest of appetites. From gourmet recipes to grilled meats and fried favorites to authentic cuisines with worldly flavors, there is sure to be something for everyone.

“We wanted to bring unique flavors and different food options to Florence so people could try new dishes,” said Nick Hooker, director of marketing of the Florence Center.

He said they chose trucks offering out-of-the-ordinary items suxh as gator bites, lobster rolls and jalapeno waffles. In addition, there will be Italian, Polish, Hispanic, vegan and Southern foods, he said. Traditional foods will be in abundance, including smoked barbeque, seafood, juicy burgers and more, Hooker said.

The Carolina Food Truck Rodeo will feature a massive beer garden with a robust selection of craft beers, imports and domestics on tap for guests to enjoy.

Southern Eagle Distributing has networked with numerous Carolina-based breweries to ensure a vast selection of local and craft beers. The rodeo’s presenting sponsor, Wicked Weed Brewing, is sure to have a beverage assortment available in the beer garden also.

There will be live music daily at the Budweiser Music Stage to keep guests entertained throughout the two-day event.

Campbell Bridgeman will kick off the event on the first night, followed by Nashville recording artists the Jebb Mac Band. Kendall Skinner will open the stage the next morning, followed by the outlaw songwriter style of official Budweiser musician Beam Country. Eaglewing, the ultimate Eagles tribute band, will end the festival that night.

There will be cornhole boards and friendly competitions, a kid’s zone with bouncy houses and rides.

Admission and parking are free to all attendees, made possible by Wicked Weed Brewing and Pepsi of the Carolinas. For more information, visit carolinafoodtruck.com.

The trucks will be parked in the upper parking lot at the Florence Center.
