Jaywalking Pedestrian Seriously Injured in Longmont After Being Hit by Truck, Police Say
A pedestrian was seriously injured in Longmont on Monday evening after police say he was struck by a pickup truck while he was jaywalking.
Robert Muehlebach was jaywalking across Main Street north of 23rd Street when he was struck by a 1998 GMC pickup truck driven by a 44-year-old man around 5:40 p.m., according to Longmont police Cmdr. Joel Post.
Muehlebach was taken to Longmont United Hospital with serious lower body injuries. The hospital had no listing for Muehlebach at 9:45 a.m. Tuesday, according to spokeswoman Kirsten Pfotenhauer.
Police cited Muehlebach with failing to cross the road in a crosswalk.
Post said he didn’t know whether the driver was cited or charged in the collision.
