Nuclear Science Week will wrap up with Atoms in the Alley
Nuclear Science Week is coming to a close, and the Savannah River Site Museum is holding a block party to celebrate.
Atoms in the Alley will take place in The Alley in downtown Aiken on Saturday, Oct. 20. The event will last from 5 to 7 p.m. and is free to the public.
The event will feature live music from Atomic Road, which will happen in conjunction with Aiken City Limits.
“The SRS Museum is once again proud to host this special event that celebrates our community’s nuclear science history.” Walt Joseph, executive director of the SRS Heritage Foundation stated in a news release. “We hope a large crowd will come out to celebrate with us.”
Atoms in the Alley will feature educational exhibits from multiple event sponsors and industry partners, such as the Citizens for Nuclear Technology Awareness, the Savannah River National Laboratory, and the University of Georgia’s Savannah River Ecology Lab.
There will also be various vendors, and a silent auction to benefit the Savannah River Site Museum will be held.
Nuclear Science Week is a celebration of local and national interests in nuclear science.
