Milwaukee man leads Washington County deputy in high speed chase
A 31-year-old Milwaukee man led a Washington County deputy on a high speed chase overnight.
According to the deputy, the man’s vehicle was speeding southbound on U.S. Highway 45 at 90 m.p.h. around 3 a.m. this morning.
When the deputy tried to catch up to it, the vehicle exited westbound onto Wisconsin Highway 60, turned off his headlights and continued at excessive speed.
The man eventually stopped on Hillside Rd. south of Highway 60 in the Village of Slinger, after realizing it was a dead-end road, according to a release from the sheriff’s department.
The man had a valid driver’s license and was operating a rental car from Milwaukee. He was arrested for felony eluding and remains in custody.
At the time of his arrest, he was on multiple probation restrictions, including not possessing over $100 due to previous drug convictions. At the time of his arrest, he had $957.00. He may also face additional bail jumping charges, according to the sheriff’s department.
