Police: Kids ran from home, alerted neighbor to mom’s rape
WASHINGTON (AP) — Authorities in Washington, D.C., say a woman offered food to a man who broke into her house, believing he was homeless, but he then raped her.
WTOP-FM reports 26-year-old Theodore Tinsley was arrested Monday and charged with first-degree sexual abuse.
Police say he fled the scene of the Sunday attack after the woman’s children ran to a neighbor to get help. Tinsley ran away when the neighbor showed up.
He was later arrested based on information given by the woman.
Tinsley was due in D.C. Superior Court for a preliminary hearing Friday.
