Red Cross honors Havasu resident
Steve Irwin of Lake Havasu City was among three American Red Cross volunteers who were honored by the organization.
Irwin was named Rookie of the Year. In his first month as a Red Cross volunteer, Irwin completed more than 40 classes and went on Disaster Action Team runs. He quickly became a leader by helping other new volunteers with their training.
He also stepped in to set up and run the Havasu office. Irwin deployed to help victims of Hurricanes Harvey and Irma. In Mohave County, Steve leads the Pillow case Project and Sound The Alarm campaign.
The other award recipients were Marilyn Bailey of Bullhead City and Brenda Cicero of Snowflake. Bailey was named Disaster Volunteer of the Year and Cicero received the Exceptional Volunteer of the Year award.
