Singer Beth Spangler joins worship team in North Augusta church
Aiken-native singer and performer Beth Spangler announced on her Facebook page earlier this month that she will be joining First Baptist Church North Augusta as their Artist in Residence.
“Anyone that knows me, knows that my faith plays a major role in my music, as well as any success I’ve had in this industry thus far, so it is a privilege to find myself in a supportive community of like-minded artists who I can learn from and grow with as we collectively use our gifts to minister to others,” Spangler said in an email statement.
FBCNA’s worship pastor, Jeff Bumgardner, is currently writing original songs for Spangler to present to the congregation and to record for upcoming CD projects. Bumgardner is a Dove Award-winning songwriter.
“It is such a blessing to be joining forces with the incredibly talented team at First Baptist Church of North Augusta,” Spangler said.
Spangler has enjoyed a successful singing career. She appeared as a contestant on Season 7 of NBC’s The Voice and trained with singer Adam Levine. She and her husband are expecting their first child, and according to her website, she is currently working on a new album, to be released this fall.
“Beth Spangler is a gifted performer and speaker who has connected deeply with our family of faith at First Baptist North Augusta,” senior pastor of FBCNA Dr. Stephen Cutchins said via Facebook Messenger. “It is a great joy to see her using her gifts to share the truth about Jesus Christ under our roof.”
Cutchins said Spangler will be featured in First Baptist North Augusta’s morning worship service at 10:30 a.m. and the church’s new 5 p.m. modern worship service.
