Jeep rolls over in Cranston, killing driver
CRANSTON, R.I. (AP) — Police say a Jeep rolled over in the early morning hours in Rhode Island, killing the driver.
State police say the Jeep went off Route 10 in Cranston, struck a guardrail and went down an embankment at about 2:30 a.m. Wednesday.
The driver, the vehicle’s only occupant, was pronounced dead at the scene. He was identified as 32-year-old Matthew Ross, of Warwick.
The roadway was wet at the time, but the cause of the crash remains under investigation.
People who live in the area say there are frequent crashes on that stretch of highway, especially when it’s raining.
