Legislative forum provides summar of recent state legislation
NORFOLK - Nebraska Chamber of Commerce leaders and state lawmakers from the area met at the Norfolk Area Chamber of Commerce building Monday for their annual forum.
The event was one of 25 held across the state from August through October and was designed to allow the State Chamber to gather input from business leaders, and provide summaries of recent state legislation.
Nebraska Chamber President Barry Kennedy Kennedy says there was some key business bills enacted in 2017 including unemployment insurance reform, and regulatory reform to speed up transportation infrastructure projects.
He says the big issue they’re focusing on during the next legislative session is tax reform.
Kennedy says the State Chamber is also looking to revitalize the economic development incentive package that was created in 2005.
