Against religious exemptions: Letter

May 13, 2019 GMT

I read a recent article in the Post regarding one legislator’s attempts to eliminate the vaccination exemption for religious reasons, and I support it.

By not vaccinating, they not only put their children at risk but the children of others in society. In Mexico everyone has a right to free vaccines, and each child receives a National Vaccination Card, the records are stored in a database, and if a child has not been vaccinated they cannot enroll into a school.

The right to a free vaccination comes with the duty to society to vaccinate, they haven’t had a measles outbreak since 1996.
