Royal Caribbean: 3Q Earnings Snapshot

MIAMI (AP) _ Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. (RCL) on Wednesday reported third-quarter profit of $883.2 million.

The Miami-based company said it had profit of $4.20 per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and amortization costs, came to $4.27 per share.

The results fell short of Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of seven analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of $4.31 per share.

The cruise operator posted revenue of $3.19 billion in the period, also falling short of Street forecasts. Seven analysts surveyed by Zacks expected $3.22 billion.

Royal Caribbean expects full-year earnings in the range of $9.50 to $9.55 per share.

Royal Caribbean shares have climbed 16% since the beginning of the year. The stock has risen 14% in the last 12 months.
