Alleged drunken driver arrested following injury crash on Near East Side, Madison police say
A Madison man was arrested for his alleged fourth drunken driving offense Saturday night following a two-car crash on the city’s Near East Side.
Samuel Holmes, 29, was also tentatively charged with resisting/obstructing an officer, Madison police said.
According to police:
The crash happened in the 1500 block of Williamson Street at about 9:40 p.m. Saturday.
A passenger in Holmes’ car and the driver of the other car were taken to a hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
“Holmes refused to identify himself,” said police spokesman Joel DeSpain. “Officers were able to positively identify him during the booking process at the Dane County Jail.”
