6: Area players selected to participate in the Texas High School Baseball Coaches Association All-Star Games on June 17 at Dell Diamond in Round Rock.

Players chosen to represent the South in the Class 6A-5A game, set for 1 p.m., are Reagan shortstop Ramon Garza, O’Connor second baseman Zachary Barrera and Kerrville Tivy pitcher Asa Lacy.

Players selected for the South squad in the Class 4A-3A-2A game, set for 10 a.m., are Fredericksburg pitcher Remington Neffendorf, Blanco catcher CJ Lovalvo and Center Point catcher Aaron Walters.

14: Area athletes named to the Texas Association of Volleyball Coaches’ Class 6A-5A and private school preseason team — Brandeis’ Emily DeWalt; Clemens’ Makenzie Miller, Lauren Teske and Shelby O’Neal; Reagan’s Lydia Niebla, Elissa Barbosa and Camryn Ennis; Churchill’s Hannah Lopez and Cate Buckingham; New Braunfels Canyon’s Brooke Kanas; Brennan’s Makenna Hanssen; Madison’s Jillian Slaughter; New Braunfels’ Hannah Jacobs; and Antonian’s Maylin Garrett.

New Braunfels’ Ellie Wipf, Churchill’s Caroline Meuth, Brandeis’ Maya Smalls, Kerrville Tivy’s Ava Wampier and Antonian’s Michaela Edwards were listed as players to watch.

Field hockey: In an effort to grow the sport locally, Saint Mary’s Hall field hockey coach Hillary Relyea will conduct a free clinic from 1:30 p.m.-3 p.m. Sunday at the school, 9401 Starcrest Drive.

The session is for girls ages 8-18. Those interested can register at www.apexfhc.com.

Relyea, who led the Barons to the TAPPS state title in the fall and played at Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee, will also conduct a camp from 9:30-11 a.m. June 5-9 at Saint Mary’s Hall.
