Bulls’ Jackson Feels Heat, Ejected

January 8, 1998

MIAMI (AP) _ Chicago Bulls coach Phil Jackson was ejected late in the first half of Wednesday’s game against the Miami Heat for arguing when a technical foul was called on Dennis Rodman.

When Jackson came on the court cursing and flailing his arms, he was given a technical and ejected by referee Eddie F. Rush.

The sequence began when Miami’s Alonzo Mourning shoved Rodman to the floor near the Heat basket. When a wide-open Mourning then took a pass and scored easily, Rodman hustled back into the action and appeared to jump into the Heat center, knocking him to the ground.

No personal foul was called, but Rodman received a technical.
