UML Softball Team Swept by Albany
ALBANY, N.Y. -- The UMass Lowell softball team faced a pair of hard-fought setbacks at the University of Albany on Friday afternoon.
Lowell slipped to 12-4 in America East, 19-25 overall. The teams are tied at the top of the league standings and Saturday’s game will decide the regular season title.
The River Hawks were first defeated, 1-0, on a walkoff in the bottom of the seventh in Game 1 before falling, 4-2, in Game 2.
Junior pitcher Kaysee Talcik fanned two batters in her complete-game performance in the opener to become the first River Hawk to surpass 100 strikeouts in a single season at the Division I level.
Casey Harding hit her fifth home run of the year in Game 2.
