February 10, 2017

UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Nebraska and Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska are hosting a community baby shower for expectant moms and new parents at Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska Health Center in Gering. The shower will be held Saturday, Feb. 18 from 1 – 2:30 p.m.

The baby shower will include presentations in Spanish and English about important prenatal and well-baby care information. In addition to resources from Community Action Partnership of Western Nebraska and UnitedHealthcare, parents will receive tips for taking care of their babies, including information on prenatal and postpartum care, and child safety. Attendees will have the opportunity to participate in educational games. They will also receive gift bags and have the opportunity to win door prizes including a Pack N Play, diaper bag with diapers and other well-baby items. Healthy snacks and refreshments will be provided.

Baby Blocks helps parents manage doctor visits and other baby care during pregnancy and the first two years of a child’s life. The program enables users to receive email appointment alerts and wellness-related text messages, connect directly with maternity nurses, and earn rewards for keeping the appointments.

UnitedHealthcare Community Plan is hosting this event to help mothers understand the resources and support available to them and how to get the most out of their health plan. The baby shower is part of a series of community events taking place throughout the state by UnitedHealthcare Community Plan to provide expectant moms and new parents with important prenatal and well-baby care resources and information.
