Brunswick golf team wins Silo Ridge Challenge Cup
Brunswick School completed its golf season concluded its season by winning the third-annual Silo Ridge Challenge Cup at Silo Ridge Field Club in Amenia, NY.
The Bruins shot a 9-under par 61 in the 11-team, four-ball (best ball) format event to end up two strokes ahead of runner-up Kent School. Berkshire, Hotchkiss, Salisbury and South Kent each tied for third with a score of 68.
Ben Carpenter and Chase Caffray carded a 6-under par 29, followed by Owen Hayes and Bladen Smith’s 32 for the 61 total. Connor Belcastro and Charlie Marvin each finished with a 34.
Brunswick (48-0) finished a perfect season, participating in 15 events, including 5 tournaments, and emerging victorious in all of them.
“I’m so proud of this group, they set extremely high goals and then went out and achieved them all,” Bruins coach Anthony Fischetti said. “We will most certainly miss our seniors, and although that’s bittersweet, we have a team saying that ‘tradition never graduates,’ so their legacy will most assuredly carry on.”
