LAS VEGAS (AP) _ Siegfried & Roy don’t plan to pull a disappearing act on the Mirage after signing a lifetime contract with the resort.
The superstar illusionists, who put on one of the most well-known and expensive Las Vegas shows with their signature white tigers and lions, announced the deal during Monday night’s performance.
``That means you have to bear with us for the rest of your life,″ Siegfried Fishbachler told the audience.
Their contract calls for eight shows a week, 44 weeks a year until the German-born entertainers retire. Under terms of the deal, that won’t happen any earlier than the end of 2004.
Fishbachler, 61, and 56-year-old Roy Uwe Ludwig Horn have performed together in Las Vegas for more than 30 years. They opened at the Mirage hotel-casino in February 1990.
The duo has performed about 5,000 shows for 10 million fans, grossing more than $1 billion.
