The Music Box Theater presents ‘A Beatles Holiday Cabaret’

December 3, 2018

The Music Box Theater celebrates Christmas and The Beatles in the holiday concert “A Beatles Holiday Cabaret,” which runs Dec. 7-29.

It’s not a Music Box Christmas without the melodious sound of The Beatles mixed with holiday music. This year we’re planning just such a concert of nonstop musical merry making. The Music Boxers are making a list of The Beatles songs and contemporary Christmas classics to get you in the right mood for a cool yule.

Song selections include some of the group’s original Christmas/Beatles mash-ups, such as “Golden Slumbers/O Holy Night/The End”; “Eleanor Rigby/We Three Kings”; “Please Come Home for Christmas/O Darling”; “Little Drummer Boy/Peace on Earth”; and classics like “White Christmas” and “Let it Be.”

With “A Beatles Holiday Cabaret” audiences will enjoy The Music Box Theater’s regular cast of Rebekah Dahl, Brad Scarborough, Luke Wrobel, Cay Taylor and Kristina Sullivan. Supporting the cast is the amazing four-piece band G Sharp and the MBT Three, featuring Glenn Sharp (musical director and keyboard), Mark McCain (guitar), Long Le (bass) and James Metcalfe (percussion).

“A Beatles Holiday Cabaret” performances are at 7:30 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and at 2 p.m. Sundays, Dec. 9, 16 and 23. The theater will include an additional show at 7:30 p.m., Thursday, Dec. 20.

Tickets are $41 for reserved seating and $31 for general admission and are available online at www.themusicboxtheater.com or by calling (713) 522-7722.

The Music Box Theater’s cabaret is at 2623 Colquitt in the heart of Upper Kirby. This storied venue was the original home of Radio Music Theater. Since The Music Box Theater opened its doors in May 2011, audiences have been dazzled and amused by the incredible talents of each of the five stellar performers in its cast: Rebekah Dahl and Brad Scarborough (founders), Luke Wrobel, Cay Taylor and Kristina Sullivan.

Wine, beer and snacks are available.
