Robert Griffin III inactive for Ravens in Week 1

So much for Robert Griffin III being Joe Flacco’s backup.

Last week, the NFL Network reported Griffin not first-rounder Lamar Jackson would be the No.2 quarterback for the Ravens, behind Flacco. Coach John Harbaugh later declined to confirm that report.

But when the Ravens opened their season Sunday against the Buffalo Bills, it was Griffin, not Jackson, among Baltimore’s list of inactive. If Flacco suffers an injury, that would mean Jackson would be in the game.

Griffin had an impressive preseason, but with teams forced to make seven players inactive every Sunday, it’s likely he won’t suit up on game days.
