Police: Knife-wielding man shot after refusal to drop weapon
TUCSON, Ariz. (AP) — A man is hospitalized in serious condition after being shot by police at Fort Lowell Park in Tucson.
Police say the man approached officers at the park Wednesday afternoon holding a knife and was shot after he ignored their commands to drop the weapon.
No officers were injured.
The name of the man in his 30s hasn’t been released yet.
Before the shooting, police say officers made contact with an unidentified woman.
While speaking with her, the man approached the officers.
Police say the man and woman are somehow associated, but their relationship is unclear.
