Parole denied for Montana man convicted in 2009 shooting
HELENA, Mont. (AP) — Parole has been denied to a Montana man who shot at three teenagers, killing one a decade ago.
The Independent Record reported Thursday that the state Probation and Parole Board denied parole this week to Sebastian Olivares-Coster, who ambushed the teens in the Rodney Ridge area near Helena.
The 2009 shooting killed Cory Andrewski.
Olivares-Coster was sentenced in 2010 to three life sentences for deliberate homicide and attempted deliberate homicide. Two of the sentences are running consecutively.
He apologized to his victims and their relatives at the hearing, saying he was sorry they “have to go through this every six years.”
He was previously denied parole after a hearing in 2013.
The board will consider parole again in 2025.
