Two people hurt in Darlington County fight, shooting

FLORENCE, S.C. -- Two people were transported to a Florence area hospital following a Tuesday night Darlington County shooting.

Darlington County deputies responded to the 700 Block of Steerfork Drive -- located in the Florence area of Darlington County -- at about 11:30 p.m. to a reported shooting that took place while separated parents were exchanging a child, according to release issued by the sheriff’s office.

“At some point during the exchange of the child an argument began between several family members eventually turning physical,” according to the release.

One man was shot and a woman suffered “unknown” injuries, according to the release.

The extent of the injuries suffered by the shooting victim is unknown, according to the release.
