The Robert Frost Stone House Museum has a new director
SHAFTSBURY, Vt. (AP) — The Robert Frost Stone House Museum at Bennington College has a new director.
New director Erin McKenny started on July 1.
The college says McKenny has worked for Bennington College for 16 years, most recently as the design and planning coordinator, and she also manages the college’s art collection. She will continue in those roles, too.
The poet lived in the South Shaftsbury home from 1920 to 1929 and wrote one of his most famous poems — “Stopping by Woods on a Snowy Evening” — while seated at his dining room table.
A college spokeswoman tells the Bennington Banner that McKenny has deep roots in the community, and the college wants the house to serve the community.
The college acquired the home from the Friends of Robert Frost in 2017.
