Burger King Announces Plans To Open 50 Restaurants In Israel
MIAMI (AP) _ Burger King Corp. on Wednesday announced plans to open more than 50 restaurants in Israel over the next six years.
The announcement followed the signing of an agreement with Rikamor Ltd. of Tel Aviv.
The first restaurant is scheduled to open in Tel Aviv in April 1994, with another opening in Jerusalem soon thereafter. The plan calls for 50 additional restaurants by the year 2000.
″Burger King has built an international reputation for high quality and great tasting products,″ said Rikamor Chairman Yair Hasson. ″We are very excited to be part of history.″
Burger King, based in Miami, is a subsidiary of Britain’s Grand Metropolitan PLC. It had an estimated $6.4 billion in sales in fiscal 1992.
