Claymores 21, Admirals 14

EDINBURGH, Scotland (AP) _ Quarterback Steve Matthews threw for one TD and ran for the game winner early in the fourth quarter Sunday, giving the Scottish Claymores a 21-14 victory over the Amsterdam Admirals in the World League of American Football.

The Claymores are now 3-0 and the Admirals 1-2 in the six-team all-European league.

Before 13,070 fans at Murrayfield, the Claymores scored on their first drive with a 9-yard touchdown run by Siran Stacy, who had 100 yards in the first quarter alone and finished with 153 on 31 carries.

Amsterdam tied it on the final play of the quarter when Rico Mack intercepted Matthews and ran it back 90 yards for a score.

Matthews gave the Claymores the lead again with 4:10 left in the half, hitting Scott Couper with a 5-yard TD pass.

Kelley Sims tied for the Admirals again 1:36 into the second half, running 73 yards through the Scottish defense.

After Matthews ran 8 yards for the game winning score, David Wilson sealed the victory by intercepting David Wilson in the end zone.
