Starbucks CEO, in Philly for damage control, promises unconscious-bias training for all managers

Starbucks is in damage-control mode after a weekend of negative media coverage and protests over the arrest of two men who — to many who saw a viral video of the incident at the chain’s 19th and Spruce location last Thursday — appeared to be guilty of nothing but waiting for a friend while black.

Chief executive Kevin Johnson was in Philadelphia Monday morning to meet with the two men, who have not been identified, as well as with government and community leaders.
