‘I was supposed to be there’: Pa. congressman says of Alexandria shooting

WASHINGTON — Rep. Ryan Costello was supposed to be at the GOP baseball practice where a shooter opened fire Wednesday morning — but he missed his ride by two minutes.

Had he made it, the congressman from Chester County would have played shortstop, right next to Majority Whip Steve Scalise, the Louisiana Republican who plays second base, and who was shot.
