Owl Diner Held at City Hall

LOWELL -- Owl Diner Charities will be hosting a turkey dinner later this month for Big Brothers Big Sisters Littles, which are the children benefiting from the mentoring program. The dinner will be held from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Nov. 15 at the City of Lowell Senior Center, 276 Broadway St., according to Walter “Buddy” Flynn, who chairs the Owl Diner Charities. Flynn said this will be the 20th year the event has been held. The dinner is being co-sponsored by Trinity EMS.


Seminar to understand addiction

LOWELL -- The River of Divine Mercy Catholic Collaborative in partnership with Lowell House, Inc. will present a program Thursday evening titled “Addiction is a Family Disease: From Understanding to Prevention.” The event will be held from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at Elks Club, 40 Old Ferry Rd. in Lowell, according to a flyer. Fish and Wildlife event in Lowell

LOWELL -- On Friday, the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service will designate Lowell an Urban Wildlife Refuge Partnership city. The event starts at 2 p.m. at the Concord River Greenway on 1025 Lawrence Street. U.S. Rep. Niki Tsongas, Lowell Mayor William Samaras, U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service Deputy Regional Director Deborah Rocque and Lowell Parks and Conservation Trust Executive Director Jane Calvin will be in attendance.


Creative writing group to meet

BILLERICA -- A creative writing group that meets once a month at a study room in Billerica Public Library will have its next meeting at 10:30 a.m. Nov. 17. Each member of Billerica Writes is encouraged to bring copies of their work for feedback. At the meeting members read their work aloud and the material is discussed and workshopped. The meeting is open to novice and experienced writers.


Honoring Agent Orange victims

BILLERICA -- A memorial honoring veterans impacted by Agent Orange will be dedicated at 10:30 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 11. The memorial will be installed at Vietnam Veterans Park. Following the dedication people can gather at the VFW Solomon Post #8819 in North Billerica.


Christmas returns to Pepperell

PEPPERELL -- The Community Church of Pepperell will be hosting its annual Christmas Fair next month. The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Dec. 1 at 3 Townsend St., Pepperell. The event will feature children’s activities, a basket raffle, ham and turkey luncheon, wreaths, collectibles, pre-owned jewelry, and books. There will also be photos with Santa Claus from 10:30 a.m.-11:30 a.m. and 12 p.m.-1 p.m.
