Suits collected as part of Georgetown Day

June 8, 2018 GMT

A Save-A-Suit drive for veterans will be held at Georgetown Day this Saturday.

Gently-used suits, shirts and shoes for women and men will be collected at Georgetown Bible Church from noon to 6 p.m., the same time as the festival. Save-A-Suit, a nonprofit that provides business clothing to veterans in need, also collects casual clothing, ties, dresses, handbags and other accessories.

Georgetown Day is a free street fair that features live music and performances, merchant vendors, food, beer and games. The mission of the event, now in its 16th year, is to bring the community together and “invite our neighbors to enjoy a day of summer fun in the hopes that we can keep the buzz going for years to come,” according to the event’s website.
