3 Las Vegas teens killed in crash in southern California

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Three teens from Las Vegas on a spring break trip are dead following a crash in southern California.

Police in Huntington Beach, California, say the crash happened around 1 a.m. Thursday, when 27-year-old Bani Duarte rear-ended the teens’ vehicle, pushing it through an intersection.

Police say one passenger got out of the car, but it burst into flames as an officer tried to rescue the three others.

Albert Rossi tells KLAS-TV his 17-year-old son Albert “A.J.” Rossi was killed in the crash. He says his son loved football and basketball and would do anything to help anyone.

The Orange County Coroner has not identified the other victims.

Police arrested Duarte on charges of vehicular manslaughter while intoxicated and driving under the influence causing injury. It wasn’t immediately clear if she has an attorney.
