Klein and The Woodlands advance to state lacrosse championship
The Klein varsity men’s lacrosse team and The Woodlands both advanced to the THSLL State Championship Tournament, May 12-13, in Austin along with six other teams from Dallas and Austin.
Both teams won their respective regional tournaments over the weekend.
Klein beat Greenhill (10-9) in the DII Regionals South District at Klein Oak and The Woodlands beat Dallas Jesuit (11-4) in the DI Super Regionals South Region (Kingwood) at Turner Stadium.
Langham Creek lost to Westlake DII (10-9) in the DII Regionals Central District at Stony Point High School.
Klein moves on to the DII Championship final four and will face Highland Park DII Saturday, May 12 at 10 a.m. in Round Rock at Dragon Stadium.
Highland Park DII beat San Antonio Reagan (10-5) in the DII Regionals San Antonio District at Reagan (Wheatley Sports Complex).
On the other side of the bracket, Westlake DII will take on Prosper Saturday, May 12 at noon at Dragon Stadium.
Prosper beat Regents School of Austin (7-6) in the DII Regionals North District at Allen High School.
The Woodlands will face Highland Park, Saturday, May 12 at 4 p.m. at Dragon Stadium in the DI Championship semifinals.
Highland Park beat Westlake (9-8) in the DI Super Regionals South Region (Kingwood) at Turner Stadium.
On the other side of the bracket, St. Mark’s will face Episcopal School of Dallas Saturday, May 12 at 2 p.m. at Dragon Stadium.
St. Mark’s beat Lake Travis (12-2) and Episcopal School of Dallas beat Dripping Springs (20-3) in the DI Super Regionals DI North Region (Allen) at Turner Stadium.
Dallas Jesuit beat Episcopal School of Dallas (9-8) in last year’s DI Championship final and Rockwall beat Greenhill (16-7) in last year’s DII Championship final.
