Joan M. Quinn, 71, of Gilman, and formerly of Watseka and Piper City, passed away at 5:50 a.m. Friday (March 16, 2018) at her sister’s home in Gilman, following a lengthy illness.
According to her wishes, cremation rites have been accorded.
A memorial visitation will be from 2 p.m. Sunday until the 3:30 p.m. memorial service at Redenius Funeral Home in Gilman, with the Rev. Malcolm Jones officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Gilman Cemetery.
Memorials may be made to Hospice of Kankakee Valley.
Ms. Quinn was born Aug. 22, 1946, in Bloomington, a daughter of Edward J. and Louise E. (Foreman) Quinn.
Survivors include five sisters, Eleanor Wilson, of Gilman, Helen Hoogstraat, of Piper City, Irene Read, of Chebanse, (twin sister) Jean Cavinder, of Tulsa, Okla., and Monica Moore, of Ashkum; one brother, Louis Quinn, of Ashkum; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews and cousins.
Preceding her in death were her parents; three brothers, John, Raymond and Bob; and a niece, Becky Lynch.
Ms. Quinn was a graduate of Piper City High School. She had worked at the University of Illinois, College of Veterinary Medicine at Urbana-Champaign in the administration department for many years. Later, she worked at Viskase Corporation, Kentland, Ind., for several more years before retiring.
She enjoyed music, dancing, decorating, making crafts, sewing and scrapbooking.
