Man held in fatal shooting of Robeson County man after dispute
Robeson County authorities said a man has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of a man who was found in his vehicle Saturday morning, authorities said.
Kendrick Barlie Worriax, 23, of Shannon surrendered to investigators around 1 p.m. Saturday in connection with the killing, the sheriff’s office said in a Facebook post.
Worriax has been charged with first-degree murder and discharging a weapon into an occupied vehicle. He was being held at the Robeson County Detention Center without a bond, the sheriff’s office said. He was expected to have a first appearance in court Monday morning.
The body Devin Ray Locklear, 48, of Shannon, was found in the front seat of his vehicle when deputies arrived at the scene in the 40 block of Truck Lane around 8:30 a.m.
According to investigators, the shooting was the result of a dispute between Locklear and Worriax that had occurred before the fatal shooting.
