NBA’s Shaun Livingston launches basketball camp
PEORIA, Ill. (AP) — Brooklyn Nets player Shaun Livingston is in his hometown of Peoria this week.
The basketball player is launching the first Pride of Peoria basketball clinic at Peoria High School. The Journal Star reports Wednesday (http://bit.ly/15vlQxV) that the camp will have more than 300 children participating.
The Nets signed Livingston earlier this month. He previously played for Cleveland and Washington and was the No. 4 pick in the 2004 draft. Livingston told reporters there are more pressure and expectations playing for a high-profile team.
Livingston says he’s participating in the camp to teach children about basketball and life skills. He says he takes pride in being from Peoria.
