Slopestyle competition this weekend at Big Sky

Big Sky Resort will host the Montana Slopestyle Championship this weekend in the Swifty and Swifty 2.0 terrain parks.

The event will kick off with a rail jam Friday evening in the Swifty 2.0 park with the championship slopestyle event to follow on Saturday. More than 70 competitors are expected.

Last winter, Schweitzer Mountain Resort, Whitefish Mountain Resort and Big Sky Resort played host to the 2016 Smokin’ Aces Tour, a three-stop freestyle competition series. This winter the events have been narrowed to two state championship events at Big Sky and Schweitzer.

The Montana Championship event is open to all athletes. The cost to enter the slopestyle event is $40 for the Open Division and $35 for all others.

Preregistration is available online and there will be registration on the day of the event in the Mammoth Room from 8:30 to 11:30 a.m. Training will take place Saturday morning with the event scheduled to begin at noon.
