Payette landfill seeks permit modification

December 28, 2017

The Idaho Department of Environmental Quality has received a request from the Clay Peak Municipal Solid Waste Landfill to modify the air quality permit to construct that regulates emissions from the landfill in Payette.

The proposed permit modification will allow the facility to install six additional landfill gas flares over the next two years. Emissions must remain within legally allowable limits.

A public comment period will be provided on the proposed permit if a written request is submitted to DEQ by 5 p.m. Jan. 4.

The permit application is available for review on DEQ’s website, www.deq.idaho.gov.

Submit requests for a 30-day public comment period and questions regarding the public comment process by mail or email to: Tessa Stevens, Air Quality Division, DEQ State Office, 1410 N. Hilton, Boise, ID 83706 or Tessa.stevens@deq.idaho.gov.
