Danielle Howle brings it back home with CD release Friday
Grit. Fortitude. Spirit. Those are the things you hear in the indomitable voice of local singer-songwriter Danielle Howle.
The “artist-poet” has been making music for decades, having been compared to legends like Patsy Cline and Nina Simone. She sings in styles from swampy blues to jazzy folk and alternative country. A Columbia native, Howle has opened for superstars Bob Dylan and Bonnie Raitt, and toured with the Indigo Girls and The Avett Brothers, just to name a few.
On Friday night, Home Team BBQ Downtown will present the release of Howle’s new album as part of its independently produced “Live From the Home Team” music series, recorded in January 2017. The first installment featured local soul and roots-rockers Gaslight Street.
Indie folk artist Benyaro will start things off at 7 p.m. on the outside stage and Howle will rock the inside stage starting at 10:30 p.m.
WHEN: 7-10 p.m. Nov. 3 Benyaro; 10:30 p.m. Danielle Howle
WHERE: Home Team BBQ Downtown, 126 Williman St., Charleston
