Police in Tucson say a 55-year-old woman fatally shot her twin grandsons Thursday before suffering of an apparent drug overdose.
Dorothy Flood is facing two counts of first-degree murder in the deaths of Jaden and Jorden Webb, who were 8 years old.
Flood, who was the boys’ sole guardian, is in custody.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department says it got a call Thursday afternoon for medical assistance at a home on the city’s west side. Deputies found Flood unresponsive and suffering from a suspected drug overdose before they found the twin boys dead in separate bedrooms.
A department spokesman said he didn’t know about any prior incidents involving that home or Flood.
