Bad to the Bone BBQ food truck back full time
Less than a month after we reported that the Bad to the Bone BBQ food truck owner had reopened the biz and was looking for a permanent spot, he’s found one.
Hector Cabello now is parking his truck at the corner of Nacogdoches Road and Loop 410, just inside the loop, at a former gas station turned food truck space. It’s a homecoming of sorts for Cabello, who used to the work the Smoke Shack food truck when it was parked in the lot.
Cabello, who signed a lease and started serving at the location Tuesday, originally shuttered Bad to the Bone back in September after a short stint on Cevallos Street in Southtown.

Bad to the Bone, which made its debut in 2016 and was featured in the Express-News’ “52 Weeks of BBQ” series, was recognized for some of the best pulled pork in the city and its tricked-out baked potatoes that tipped the scales at 5 pounds each.
Trucks for Theory Coffee and Naco Mexican Eatery share the corner space.
