Cabell Countians attend Democratic 3rd District meeting
OAKHILL, W.Va. — The Democratic 3rd Congressional District, which encompasses Boone, Cabell, Fayette, Greenbrier, Lincoln, Logan, Mason, McDowell, Mercer, Mingo, Monroe, Nicholas, Pocahontas, Raleigh, Summers, Wayne, Webster and Wyoming counties, met Feb. 10-11 at the White Oak Country Club, Oak Hill, West Virginia.
Attending from Cabell County were Lacey Ann Connelly, Susan Hubbard, Fritz Hubbard and Monika Rowe. Senator Bill Laird, West Virginia Democratic Executive Committee vice chair, welcomed the group.
Belinda Biafore, West Virginia Democratic Executive Committee chairperson, gave the opening remarks. Doris Irwin, Mercer County Executive Committee chairperson, introduced the speakers. Paul Flanagan, Raleigh County Democratic Executive Committee chair, talked about democratic values. Delegate Mick Bates, District 30, addressed candidate training. Lacey Connelly, Executive Director, West Virginia Young Democrats, also provided training. Luke Begovich spoke about what is next.
The next meeting is scheduled for May in Charleston.
