Man dies, driver arrested after a crash in North Las Vegas
LAS VEGAS (AP) — Police say a 72-year-old man is dead after a two-vehicle crash in North Las Vegas and a driver has been arrested on DUI-related charges.
They say the medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene Saturday afternoon.
The Clark County coroner’s office will identity the man who died after his family can be notified.
Police say 46-year-old Anthony Peniston has been booked into the Las Vegas Detention Center on suspicion of felony reckless driving causing death or substantial bodily harm and driving under the influence.
They say speed and impairment are believed to be factors in the collision at an intersection after Peniston’s vehicle allegedly ran a stop sign.
It was unclear Sunday if Peniston has a lawyer yet who can speak on his behalf about the case.
