Man charged with attempted homicide in Bedford Dwellings shooting

Pittsburgh Police have charged a Hill District man with attempted homicide after an early morning shooting in the Bedford Dwellings neighborhood Monday.

Lamont Pendleton, 40, allegedly shot another man in the stomach along Chauncey Drive at about 12:35 a.m.

First responders found the victim lying on the ground at the corner of Bedford Avenue and Somers Drive, police said. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition, and has since stabilized.

Pendleton fled the scene toward Bedford Avenue, where officers quickly found him and took him into custody, according to police

He is being held in the Allegheny County Jail on numerous charges, including criminal attempted homicide and aggravated assault, police said.
