Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers present ‘Legend of the Banana Kid’ at Stamford’s Palace Theatre
Saddle up for a cowboy adventure at Stamford’s Palace Theatre on Sunday, April 8. That’s when “The Legend of the Banana Kid” will be presented by the Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers.
According to a news release, the show tells the tale of Little Chucky, who heads to the Wild West to outwit outlaws. “With a fistful of bananas, he rides into town on his trusty goat for a showdown with Big Bad Bart and his gang of bandits.”
“The Legend of the Banana Kid” features 20 of the troupe’s handcrafted puppets, plus a whole bunch of flying and twirling styrofoam bananas.
Frogtown Mountain Puppeteers is based in Bar Harbor, Maine, or as they say there, Bah Hahbah. Three siblings — brothers Erik and Brian Torbeck and their sister, Robin (Torbeck) Erlandsen — founded it in 2000.
The members of this troupe write and create their own shows and have earned multiple national awards for their presentations. They have performed at festivals, schools, libraries and theaters in the United States and Canada.
