BASKETBALL ROUNDUP: Sem Boys Open With Tourney Win

In the Nespoli Tournament championship at Berwick, Dimtri Gnall’s 31 points led all Sem scorers as the Blue Knights beat Selinsgrove 90-50. Nick Ganter added 11 points on the day. Gnall, Todd Phillips and Jeremy Callahan made the all-tournament team.

At Tri-Valley, Northwest picked up its second win is as many days at the Tri-Valley tournament. The Rangers got a balanced offensive attack with Jaxon Yaple, Walker Yaple and Matt Saxe all scoring 12 points. Bryce Koser added 11.

At Tunkhannock, the Tigers went to 2-0 on the season behind a smothering defensive effort, beating Elk Lake 45-23. Tunkhannock didn’t allow Elk Lake to reach double figures scoring in any quarter.

Rebecca Avery led Tunkhannock with 16 points. Abby Ritz chipped in 10 points.
